The GIANTS have signed Tasmanian gun Georgia Clark as an injury replacement player for Scarlett Johnson, following her devastating ACL rupture last week.
Clark, who starred for the Devils last week, completed medical testing at the AirTrunk Community Centre yesterday and will commence training with the squad following their travel to the Gold Coast for Saturday’s match simulation against the Suns.
A former Collingwood draftee, Clark was the Magpies’ first pick in the 2023 AFLW Draft and played nine games across two seasons before returning home to Hobart in 2026 and joining the Devils ahead of their inaugural VFLW season.
A medium-sized forward, Clark has strong contested marking skills and endurance that makes her ready-made for AFLW level football. Clark put in a brilliant debut for the Devils in their 24-point win over Geelong last Saturday.
Clark grabbed the attention of GIANTS AFLW List Manager Tyson Bourke for her versatility, her character and her ability to add another attacking option to the GIANTS’ forward line, showing her chops as a key target or leading forward inside 50.
Executive General Manager of AFLW, Alison Zell, said Clark is an exciting addition to the GIANTS new look list, ahead of the 2026 NAB AFLW season.
“Georgia had complete command of the ground in her debut for the Devils last week and with AFLW experience already under her belt, she’s a valuable addition to our list ahead of the season,” Zell said.
“She brings great football IQ and determination into the group. She’s also immensely versatile, having played at both ends of the ground at AFLW level with Collingwood.
“Georgia is an exciting talent and we look forward to welcoming her into the GIANTS family.”
