SIR DOUG NICHOLLS ROUND

Sir Doug Nicholls Round will once again celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and contributions to our great game, with this year’s celebrations occurring across round 10 and 11. Named in honour of Sir Doug Nicholls, a pioneering Indigenous player and the first Aboriginal person to be knighted, the round acknowledges the rich heritage and enduring impact of Indigenous athletes on the sport. Various cultural ceremonies and events are held throughout the rounds to highlight and honour Indigenous traditions and stories within the football community. Each AFL club will also wear specially designed Indigenous jumpers to celebrate Sir Doug Nicholls Round, with the GIANTS to wear their 2025 Indigenous Jumper which can be purchased here.   

TEAM    

The GIANTS will name their AFL team at 6:20pm on Thursday at gwsgiants.com.au.

BROADCAST     

The GIANTS’ clash with walyalup (Dockers) will be show live on Fox Sports 3 and Kayo from 4pm, with delayed coverage on 7mate and 7plus from 6pm.
