Six GIANTS have been added to this week’s extended squad for Sunday’s clash with the Bombers. 

Lachie Whitfield, Nick Madden, Joey Delana, Max Gruzewski, Conor Stone and Cody Angove have been named in the extended 26-man squad as the GIANTS chase three consecutive wins for the first time this season when they head south to take on the Bombers at Docklands. 

Whitfield will look to prove his fitness at Friday’s main training as he pushes to return after missing last week’s win over the Cats due to concussion protocols. 

Meanwhile Angove will be in contention to play his first game of footy at AFL-level for the season. 

Exiting the side is Phoenix Gothard (injured), Kieren Briggs (injured) and Harvey Thomas (managed).  

Gothard suffered a dislocated shoulder in last week’s thrilling win over the Cats, while Briggs is recovering from an infected leg wound that requires further time to heal. 

The GIANTS will name their final 23-man side on Friday at 5pm ahead of Sunday’s twilight fixture with Essendon at Marvel Stadium.
