Boom recruit Clayton Oliver headlines a 26-man GIANTS squad set to take on the Pies in their official match simulation in Victoria on Friday morning.
The pre-season clash will be Oliver’s first inter-club outing as a GIANT after making the move to the club in the summer following 10 years with the Demons.
The three-time All Australian is part of an exciting GIANTS squad filled with a mix of experience and youth, with a host of untried talent set to feature against Collingwood.
While the likes of Brent Daniels, Connor Idun, Jack Buckley, Lachie Whitfield and Jake Stringer will lead the way against the Pies, talented youngsters Harry Oliver, Jack Ough, Phoenix Gothard, and Ollie Hannaford have also been named as they push for their AFL debuts in 2026.
Fellow youngsters Nick Madden, Cody Angove, James Leake, and Josaia Delana will also feature as they aim to build on their AFL opportunities from 2025.
Jayden Laverde will also don the orange and charcoal for the first time outside of training on Friday as he looks to bring his toughness and experience to the side following his move from the Bombers in the summer.
Star skipper Toby Greene will be rested for Friday’s hit-out, as will fellow Origin teammates Jesse Hogan, Lachie Ash, and Stephen Coniglio, while Aaron Cadman will be managed.
The match simulation will get underway at 11am on Friday morning and will be broadcast live on Kayo Sports and Fox Footy.
