The GIANTS have made three changes to the AFLW list following the final home and away round of the 2026 NAB AFLW Season.

The GIANTS have thanked Eleanor Brown and Sophia Gaukrodger for their contribution to the club.

Brown joined the GIANTS as part of a four-way trade at the conclusion of the 2024 season and has been an immensely well-liked player throughout her time in orange and charcoal.

A former first-round draft pick with an impressive defensive resume at the Bulldogs, where she featured 39 games at AFLW level, Brown added seven matches in 2025 and was a key player in the GIANTS’ travelling scrimmage team through 2026.

The GIANTS also farewell Sophia Gaukrodger, who was selected in the inaugural 2026 AFLW Pre-Season Draft at pick 10.

Gaukrodger played an important role in the extended squad, driving standards at training and in additional sessions, but couldn’t find a place in the GIANTS’ talented young forward line to secure an appearance at AFLW level.

Taylah Levy has also announced her retirement from AFLW, following a 25-game career across both the GIANTS and the Crows.

Levy was recruited from the Crows as a dynamic midfielder, with speed out of contest but did her best work as a small forward for the GIANTS, playing nine games through 2025 and kicking three goals. Levy did not feature for the side in 2026.

Executive General Manager of AFLW and Football Operations Alison Zell thanked the trio for their contribution to the club over the last year.

“We’re grateful to Sophia, Taylah and Eleanor for the impact that they’ve had on our club and culture this season,” Zell said.

“Eleanor has been an incredible teammate in this playing group and Taylah was an important impact player for us through her time.

“While Sophia was unable to break into the side this year, we’re grateful for her work ethic and contribution to the club.

“We wish all three players the best for whatever comes next in their football careers and lives."
