GIANTS midfielder, Tom Green, will miss the 2026 Toyota AFL Premiership Season after scans confirmed the star on-baller has ruptured his ACL.
Green was involved in an incident during an intra-club match simulation on Friday morning, where a change of direction while evading a tackle resulted in the unfortunate injury.
The 25-year-old will meet with a surgeon on Tuesday to determine next steps for surgery and rehabilitation.
Speedy utility, Toby Bedford, was also sidelined during Friday’s match simulation, sustaining a moderate hamstring strain.
Bedford is one of two GIANTS player sidelined with a hamstring injury, with key defender Sam Taylor forced from the field with hamstring awareness in Saturday night’s Origin match in Perth.
Scans have since confirmed a high-grade hamstring strain for Taylor, with the club’s medical team still determining a recovery timeline, which is expected to rule him out for the opening rounds of the 2026 season.
Meanwhile, Finn Callaghan will miss the club’s two pre-season matches against the Pies and Swans with a minor hip flexor strain but is aiming to be available for the club’s Opening Round clash with the Hawks on March 7.
