GIANTS forward Cora Staunton has capped off a standout season with inclusion in the 2022 AFL Women’s All Australian Squad.

Staunton, who turned 40 last December, has been a goal-kicking machine since joining the GIANTS in the 2017 AFL Women's draft, kicking 46 goals from only 40 appearances in the orange and charcoal.

Now in her sixth season at the GIANTS, Staunton has finished as the GIANTS' leading goal kicker three times, and if named in the final team will receive her first All-Australian selection.

From 10 games in season 2022, Staunton slotted 18 goals (equal-second in the league), picked up an average of 7.5 disposals, 1.9 marks and 1.4 inside-50s a game and was named in the AFL’s team of the week four times.

A final team of 21 players, including a captain and vice-captain, will be announced at the W Awards to be held on Tuesday, April 5 at Crown Palladium.

The 2022 AFL Women's All-Australian Squad was selected by a panel comprising Nicole Livingstone (Chair), Andrew Dillon, Laura Kane, Brad Scott, Sam Virgo, Narelle Smith, Kelli Underwood, Sarah Black, Megan Waters and Tim Harrington.
