Toby Greene will miss around four weeks with a shoulder injury suffered in the third quarter of Saturday’s narrow loss to the Tigers.

The stand-in skipper has a fracture to the greater tuberosity humerus which will sideline him for a month.

GIANTS Head of Medical Cullan Ball said:

“Toby’s as tough as they come and played out the game with the fracture in his shoulder.

“We had it scanned on Sunday which revealed the injury and we expect him to be sidelined for at least a month.

“Knowing Toby, he’ll do everything right in his recovery and rehabilitation and he’ll be back out on field as soon as possible.”

Harry Perryman was subbed out of the same game with a hamstring injury, with scans confirming a grade one injury.

“It’s just a standard hamstring for Harry,” Ball said.

“We expect his rehabilitation to take around that three-to-four week mark with him to return to the field after the bye.”

Meanwhile, defenders Nick Haynes and Sam Reid are tests for this week while defender Lachlan Keeffe underwent a knee reconstruction in Melbourne last Thursday.

“All went well for Lachie,” Ball said.

“He’s in a fair bit of pain as you’d expect so he’ll take it easy over the next few weeks and then we’ll map out a plan for his return after that.”

The GIANTS take on the West Coast Eagles at GIANTS Stadium on Sunday.
