Steve Johnson returned home to the GIANTS as an Assistant Coach ahead of the 2021 season.

Johnson played 40 games for the GIANTS in 2016 and 2017 as the final chapter in a decorated playing career which included three premierships and a Norm Smith Medal at Geelong.

Following his retirement in 2017, Johnson spent three years as an Assistant Coach at the Sydney Swans.

He returns to the GIANTS as a line coach following 516 goals in his 297-game career.
