Exciting young GIANTS forward Jeremy Cameron is breathing a sigh of relief after being cleared of striking at the AFL Tribunal this week.
The decision means Cameron will not only play against Adelaide at Skoda Stadium this weekend but also remains eligible to win the NAB AFL Rising Star award. He is one of five GIANTS nominated so far, alongside Tomas Bugg, Stephen Coniglio, Dylan Shiel and Toby Greene.
WATCH THE INTERVIEW WITH CAMERON:
Cameron spoke exclusively to the GIANTS website and said he was very relieved with the outcome and hoped to not have to face the tribunal again in his AFL Career.
“In fast motion it looked like there was a bit in it, but when we slowed it down it showed there wasn’t that much in it at all. I’m rapt with the outcome and I am looking forward to playing this weekend against the Crows, said Cameron.
“It was a new experience for me, and I have never been to the tribunal in my whole life and hopefully I never have to again.”
Cameron, who has kicked 22 goals this year so far, will line up alongside Israel Folau and Jonathon Patton for the first time, and he said he was looking forward to seeing how they would go.
“Big Izzy has been training really well lately and we look forward to having him back in the side and hopefully we can sort it out down forward and play some really good football this weekend.”
