The GIANTS are thrilled to announce that fearless utility Brodee Mowbray has signed a new two-year deal with the club.
The 23-year-old’s signature ensures she stays in orange and charcoal through until at least the end of 2028 NAB AFLW Season.
A GIANTS Academy product and proud Western Sydney local, Mowbray was selected by the GIANTS with pick 55 in the 2021 NAB AFLW Draft and has since cemented herself as one of the club’s most exciting young players.
Renowned for her relentless pressure, work rate and physicality, Mowbray has raced to 40 AFLW games over the past five seasons where she’s been a key contributor across multiple roles in in Cam Bernasconi’s side.
Mowbray displayed her resilience when she was sidelined for almost a year after her rupturing her ACL in 2023, with the youngster returning to the field and quickly displaying her ferocious attack on the footy and her opponent as a dangerous medium-sized forward.
Mowbray’s new deal comes following a career-best 2025 season playing both up forward and spending more time in the middle.
Mowbray’s strong 2025 campaign saw her take home the club’s prestigious Jacinda Barclay Fearless Award, having been nominated by her teammates for her consistent determination across the season.
GIANTS Executive General Manager of AFLW, Alison Zell, said it is fantastic news for the club to be able to extend Mowbray for a further two years beyond 2026.
“It’s really exciting to have Brodee commit to the club for another two years to keep her as part of our emerging group,” Zell said.
“Brodes has gone from strength to strength this pre-season and we’re excited to see her continue her rapid rise as one of the toughest players to play on in the AFLW competition.
“The way she goes about her footy was epitomised by her teammates recognising her with the Jacinda Barclay Fearless Award last year and we’re excited about the growth she’s still got in her game and what she can produce for us this season and into the future.”
The GIANTS will kickstart their 2026 NAB AFLW season in an exciting AFLW-AFL double-header in two weeks’ time at ENGIE Stadium, with the exact date and time to be confirmed in the coming days.
