The GIANTS' Israel Folau has dismissed speculation about his future, saying he's committed to continuing his AFL career next year.
The 23-year-old former NRL star is contracted until the end of 2014 and reiterated that there was no doubt where he will be playing next season.
"I'm definitely going to be at the Giants, that's for sure. It's just rumours, whoever's spreading that (about returning to league), it's definitely not true," he said.
"I'm just worried about my job here at the Giants and trying to move forward. I'm signed with the Giants for the next two years and that's all I'm worried about."
It would be more than understandable if Folau, who returns to the senior side this week against Adelaide following a hamstring injury, had tired of the incessant questions over his future.
But he insists he doesn't care, stating "everyone can talk as much as they want. I'm not worried about it."
It is not a view shared by his coach Kevin Sheedy, who compared the softly-spoken Folau to the Sydney Swans' former Canadian rugby union international Mike Pyke.
"This young fella (Folau) has played seven games of AFL and this guy goes through purgatory," Sheedy said.
"A guy called Pyke who plays in the ruck for Sydney actually comes from Canada and he said it took him four years to learn the game.
"In fairness to Izzy and anyone else who crosses codes, it does take a while to learn.
"The Swans have been very patient with him, but I can tell you now, Pyke doesn't get asked every week 'Are you sick of AFL or want to go back to NRL'."
Rugby league identity Matthew Johns has been one of the most vocal critics of Folau's time in AFL, saying he was certain Folau would be back in league next season and that he had experienced a miserable time in his new sport.
Johns and Folau do know each other and the Giant said he had no ill feelings.
"I've said this a few times before, everyone's entitled to their own opinions and whatever they want to say.
"I definitely know it's not true, so it doesn't worry me at all.
"I'm just focusing on my footy."
Others have also been critical of Folau's ability to form a potent partnership with young GWS forwards Jeremy Cameron and Jonathan Patton.
Folau had a quick response for that question, stating it was entirely up to him whether the trio could work.
"I definitely feel I can be in there somewhere, but that's totally up to me and how hard I work," he said.
