A host of the AFL’s biggest clubs are set to square off against the GIANTS at GIANTS Stadium in 2020.

The GIANTS will continue to bring big-ticket Victorian teams to Western Sydney with Richmond, Collingwood, Geelong and Essendon headlining the GIANTS’ home fixture next year.

As revealed on Tuesday, the GIANTS will make an historic start to the club’s 2020 campaign as the club plays host to the first-ever AFL and AFLW double-header for Premiership points at GIANTS Stadium.

The 2020 Toyota AFL Premiership Season will open at GIANTS Stadium on Saturday March 21 with the AFLW team playing its round seven match at 5:10pm against Geelong before the AFL side kicks off its campaign against the Cats in a Saturday-night blockbuster.

Round eight will see Collingwood come to Western Sydney in prime time, while fellow Victorian powerhouses Richmond and Essendon return to GIANTS Stadium across rounds 15 and 17.

The GIANTS will host the return Sydney Derby against the Swans in round 19, while also hosting St Kilda, Adelaide and Fremantle to round out the club’s eight home games at GIANTS Stadium.

“GIANTS Stadium has been consistently voted the best venue for fan experience across the country and our supporters deserve to see big games and big clubs. Pleasingly that’s on the horizon in 2020.

“We’re delighted to be making history as the first club to host an AFL/AFLW double-header in round one of the AFL Premiership season.

“We’re delighted to once again host big Victorian clubs as well as return to the Saturday twilight time slot that is ideal for our members and supporters.”

As well as eight games at GIANTS Stadium, the club will also host the Western Bulldogs, the Gold Coast Suns and the Brisbane Lions at home games at UNSW Canberra Oval.
