A number of GIANTS continue to progress well in their rehab, with Stephen Coniglio giving himself a chance to return this week against the Blues.
The former vice-captain suffered a low-grade hamstring strain against the Demons in Alice Springs in round 12 and is progressing well in his bid to return to action.
Coniglio will need to get through Thursday’s main training session to be available for selection.
Jack Buckley is one week closer to returning as he progresses well from a hamstring injury, while Darcy Jones will continue to participate in team training as he pushes for a return in the next month.
Nick Madden could also feature in the next month as he builds up his running after having his knee brace removed last week.
Xavier O’Halloran is another pushing to return within the next four weeks, with the versatile utility entering a conditioning phase.
While a return to play timeline is yet to be determined, there’s positive news for young ruck Logan Smith who is now training with the team twice per week.
Meanwhile, two young GIANTS will spend some time on the sidelines, with Max Gruzewski set to miss 2-3 weeks after injuring his left hand in the VFL last week, while Ollie Hannaford will be sidelined for 4-6 weeks with bone stress in his foot.
Hannaford presented soreness in his foot late last week and was withdrawn from action over the weekend, with scans revealing the extent of the injury.
The GIANTS will host the Blues in a crucial clash at ENGIE Stadium on Saturday.
