With the GIANTS' season having reached the halfway point and the bye round meaning there's no GIANTS football this weekend, we've taken the opportunity to look back on the GIANTS' Goal of the Year nominations so far.

Round 2 - Stephen Coniglio

Rory Lobb wins the hitout to Dylan Shiel, who in turn fires off a slick handpass to Stephen Coniglio. Herded onto the boundary by a Collingwood defender, Coniglio almost makes the impossible look easy. Facing the crowd, he drops the football onto his right boot and it bends beautifully through the big sticks. It was the best of Coniglio's three goals in the GIANTS' 16 point win over the Magpies at the MCG.

Round 5 - Dylan Shiel

A stunning goal by one of the competition's best midfielders. Dylan Shiel gathers the ball under pressure from two Saints, breaks a tackle, beats another Saints defender by selling some candy and takes a bounce. He strides to 40 metres out before slotting the goal with his left foot from a tight angle. Simply brilliant.

Round 6 - Ryan Griffen

Ryan Griffen was nominated for Goal of the Year in round six. After taking a mark just outside 50, the wily veteran shimmies right, then left, then right again to beat the man on the mark before slamming the ball on his boot from 52 metres out as a Brisbane defender attempts a desperate smother. The ball sails straight over the goal umpire's head before coming crashing to the ground some 10 metres over the goal line.

Round 11 - Zac Langdon

The GIANTS lead the Crows by just three points with nine minutes to go in the final term and they need something special to silence the 44,000 Adelaide fans that are willing their team home. Up steps Zac Langdon. In just his eighth game, Langdon pounces on a hurried kick by Adam Tomlinson and, like a seasoned campaigner, burns off two Crows to kick truly in front of the Adelaide cheer squad. Adelaide Oval goes silent. The GIANTS get up by 16 points as Langdon finishes the game with three goals.

Round 12 - Josh Kelly

The GIANTS are cruising against the Gold Coast Suns at Spotless Stadium in round 12. Already having a big game, Josh Kelly takes his performance to the next level with a superb goal. The classy on-baller receives a handball from Dylan Shiel and tight on the boundary he kicks a left foot banana as he's being dragged to the turf by a Suns player. The ball curves through and Kelly celebrates a world-class finish. The 23-year-old finishes with 40 disposals and two goals as the GIANTS win by 108 points, their largest-ever winning margin.
