The GIANTS’ AFL and AFLW sides will unite for a historic double-header on Sunday, August 16 after the AFL confirmed most of the details for the final two rounds of the home and away season.
A huge day of footy will be kickstarted by the club’s AFL side in a big afternoon clash with the Eagles on Sunday, August 16 at ENGIE Stadium, with the exact time of the exciting fixture to be announced by the AFL soon.
Aiming to still be in the hunt for a Wildcard spot, the round 23 clash with West Coast could be crucial to the GIANTS’ chances of making their ninth finals campaign in the past 11 seasons.
After the AFL side have strut their stuff the club’s AFLW team will continue a huge day of action in a massive round one clash with the Eagles as Cam Bernasconi’s side looks to start the season with a bang.
The huge season-opener will mark the first time in four years that the GIANTS’ AFLW side has played for premiership points at ENGIE Stadium.
The exciting joint fixture will be just the second time the club has hosted a double-header featuring both of its programs, with the GIANTS the first AFL club to ever play an AFL-AFLW double-header for premierships points back in 2020 at ENGIE Stadium.
Fans wanting to attend the special August fixture will be able to do so at a very family-friendly price, with one ticket – which start from $20 for adults and free for kids – getting you into both the AFL and AFLW game.
Tickets will go on sale this coming Monday, August 3 at 10am for members and 2pm for the general public via Ticketmaster.
GIANTS Sydney access members of both the club’s AFL and AFLW programs will get access to this fixture with their membership.
Return public transport is also included with your ticket or relevant AFL or AFLW membership.
Also, a part of Tuesday evening’s announcement was the confirmation of the AFL’s round 24 fixture, with the GIANTS set to take on the Crows in what could be a finals-shaping clash at Adelaide Oval on Saturday, August 22 at 8:10pm AEST.
The Saturday night fixture will be the last chance for GIANTS fans to see the orange tsunami in the home and away season.
