Aaron Cadman will miss this Saturday’s season opener against the Hawks.

After sitting out Thursday’s AAMI Community Series game against the Swans, the key forward participated in a session on Saturday but has since reported ongoing pelvic soreness.

Cadman will receive treatment this week and is likely to return for the round two match against the Saints.

However, star midfielder Finn Callaghan is expected to play following a minor hip flexor injury.

Toby Bedford (hamstring), Leek Aleer (groin) and Toby McMullin (hamstring) are expected to return to full training next week as the trio rebuild their training loads.

Brent Daniels is continuing his recovery from the hamstring strain he suffered during the match simulation against the Pies two weeks ago, while Sam Taylor remains on track in his rehabilitation from the hamstring injury sustained in the AFL’s Origin match last month.

Meanwhile, Cody Angove has undergone surgery to repair his hamstring, with a return-to-play timeline yet to be determined.

The GIANTS will open their season with a blockbuster Opening Round clash against the Hawks this Saturday at ENGIE Stadium.
