A veteran with 221 games of AFL experience, Ed Curnow has backflipped on his retirement to join the orange tsunami as the Chief Unibet Sign On (CUSO).

Having originally retired at the end of the 2023 season after a 14-year AFL career, Curnow has grown tired of living in his brother’s shadow and has decided to return to the industry and join Sydney’s first-born AFL team.

Known for his tenacity and his determination, Curnow became a cult figure at the Blues – something only Dan Gorringe could ever dream of - where he was awarded the Spirit of Carlton award in 2015 before later being given Life Membership in 2021 after reaching his 200-game milestone.

Originally recruited to Adelaide via the 2008 Rookie Draft, Curnow was given a second chance at Carlton after the Blues picked him up as a rookie at the end of 2010 and now joins the GIANTS in his most prestigious role yet.

Known for doing whatever it takes for the team Curnow can play a number of roles, but it was as a defensive minded midfielder where he shone brightest at the Blues, finishing top three in the Blues best and fairest in three straight seasons from 2018-2020 – becoming the first player to do so since Chris Judd.

As the club’s CUSO, Curnow will bring his trademark grit and professionalism to a role that absolutely no one understands but agrees is vital to the club’s success as part of a new five-year deal between the GIANTS and Unibet.
