Talented young key forward Max Gruzewski will bolster the GIANTS for Friday’s VFL edition of the Battle of the Bridge.

Played as a curtain raiser to Sydney Derby XXXI at ENGIE Stadium, the GIANTS VFL side will look to continue their finals push with a win over the Swans on Friday afternoon.

Gruzewski headlines four inclusions to this week’s side, with the 21-year-old looking to continue his stellar VFL form which has him sitting sixth on the league goalkicking tally with 37 majors for the year.

Also entering Friday’s side is tough forward Izaac Hughes, utility Liam McCarthy, and crafty small forward Alex Swinnerton.

12 AFL-listed GIANTS feature in Friday’s side, with the likes of Harvey Thomas, Jacob Wehr, Harry Rowston, Nick Madden, and James Leake all looking to continue their strong form as they push for AFL selection.

Currently sitting fourth on the VFL table at 10-5 with just three games and a bye left in the home and away season, Friday’s meeting with the Swans (3-12) is another crucial clash in the GIANTS’ push for September.

The VFL edition of the Battle of the Bridge will get under way at 3:35pm on Friday at ENGIE Stadium prior to the crucial AFL clash between the clubs starting at 7:50pm.
