The GIANTS will unveil seven fresh faces as part of a 23-player squad mixed with youth and experience for Friday’s AFLW match simulation against the Swans.

Their first hit out of the pre-season against outside opposition, the GIANTS will feature a host of stars against the Swans, headlined by reigning Gabrielle Trainor Medallist and skipper Bec Beeson, Rising Star winner Zarlie Goldsworthy, and four-time club champion Alyce Parker.

Seven players will wear orange and charcoal for the first time in an official capacity on Friday, with recent first-round draft picks Sara Howley and Grace Martin joined by fellow GIANTS newcomers Eleanor Brown, Taylah Levy, Caitlin Fletcher, Sophie Kavanagh, and Irish recruit Grace Kos.

Taken with picks four and 22 respectively in last year’s draft, Friday’s match simulation will provide GIANTS fans their first look at young duo Howley and Martin ahead of their debut AFLW seasons, while Kos will feature in her very first official game of Australian Rules football after making the move to the GIANTS only a few months ago following a successful Gaelic football career in Ireland.

Friday’s clash with the Swans is the first of two pre-season hit outs for the GIANTS ahead of a huge season opener with Essendon in Canberra on Saturday, August 16
