AFL duo Toby McMullin and Jacob Wehr headline four inclusions to the GIANTS’ VFL side for Sunday’s clash with the Lions at Brighton Homes Arena in Brisbane.

McMullin will play his first VFL game since April, having played at AFL level in eight of the last nine weeks, with the silky mid-forward missing just one game due to a slight adductor issue.

Meanwhile, Wehr will play his first VFL game of the season on Sunday after playing in 12 of the GIANTS’ 13 AFL games so far this year.

Joining McMullin and Wehr in Sunday’s team is tough forward Izaac Hughes who returns for his seventh VFL game of the year, as well as exciting GIANTS Academy forward Riley Hamilton who will play his first VFL game of the season.

Making way from last week’s side is Harry Rowston (AFL), Nathan Wardius, Matt Harms (injury), and Ethan Matthews (omitted).

Wardius – who has been one of the VFL’s most dominant player this season – will unfortunately miss the next six weeks, with scans this week confirming a stress reaction in his leg.

Harms will also be sidelined for a lengthy period, as the forward underwent surgery on his ankle this week.

Sitting at 7-3 on the season, the GIANTS will look to continue their strong VFL campaign against the 6-3 Lions on Sunday, with the clash to get under way at 12:05pm at Brighton Homes Arena.
