The Greater Western Sydney GIANTS have started what Head Coach Leon Cameron says will be the biggest pre-season in the club’s history.

The GIANTS first to fourth year players kicked off their 2015 campaign with a 3km time trial at Sydney Olympic Park, followed by a skills session at Tom Wills Oval.

Key forward Adam Tomlinson finished first in the time trial, closely followed by midfielders Josh Kelly and Tomas Bugg.

Cameron said the players were ready for an intense pre-season leading into the GIANTS' opening game against St Kilda at Etihad Stadium on April 5.

“In terms of total output of football and running, weights, body combat and all the things that are wrapped up in a pre-season, by the time we finish and run out for Round 1 in the first week of April it will be the biggest pre-season,” said Cameron.

“A lot of our guys have been back for the past few weeks, living in Sydney, coming in and using the facilities which is great, and there is genuine excitement about 2015.

“We were really pleased with the times they produced (in the 3km time trial). It seems to me that they’ve looked after themselves over the nine week spell so we’re rapt with how the boys have come back."

The rest of the GIANTS players, including new recruits Ryan Griffen and Joel Patfull, resume training on Monday November 17.
