The AFL today advised that the round two NAB AFLW match between Fremantle and the GIANTS at Fremantle Oval has been relocated to Victoria University Whitten Oval.

The date and time for the match remains unchanged, with the game to commence at 5.10pm AEDT, on Sunday January 16, 2022.

The AFL is working closely with Western Australian-based teams and any decision made is in consultation with respective State Governments and aims to minimise any potential disruption and risk for both the clubs and the broader competition.

AFL General Manager Competition Management Laura Kane said the health and safety of everyone remains paramount and the league would continue to take the advice of governments and health officials.

“The health and safety of everyone in the game and the wider community remains the priority as we continue to navigate the pandemic,” Ms Kane said.

“Our competition will continue to remain adaptable as we navigate the 2022 NAB AFLW Premiership Season and the AFL thanks all involved clubs, players, AFLPA, venues, governments, and supporters for their understanding.

“We also thank the GWS GIANTS for their adaptability and understanding, as well as the Western Bulldogs for being so accommodating and providing a neutral venue for the Round Two match to take place.”
