The newest GIANTS from both the men’s and women’s teams have received their playing numbers ahead of a big, big 2021.

The jumper numbers of 14 new players across both the men’s and women’s program have been revealed.

4 (AFLW) – Katherine Smith

Arriving at the GIANTS courtesy of a trade, Smith joins the GIANTS following four years with the Melbourne Demons. The 22-year-old missed the 2020 season due to a serious knee injury. In 2021 she will wear the GIANTS’ number four.

5 (AFL) – Tanner Bruhn

Tanner Bruhn joins the GIANTS courtesy of their first pick (pick 12) in the 2020 NAB AFL draft. The 183cm midfielder from Geelong Grammar, will take over the number five jumper from Jye Caldwell.

9 (AFL) – Ryan Angwin

The youngest member of the GIANTS family will don the number nine jumper when he starts his AFL career with the GIANTS. The left-foot medium defender has silky skills and a high footy IQ.

10 (AFL) – Jacob Wehr

The number 10 jumper will remain in the hands of a South Australian, with mature-age draftee Jacob Wehr taking the jumper from the retired Sam Jacobs.

11 (AFL) – Braydon Preuss

After wearing the number 21 at the Melbourne Football Club and 31 with the North Melbourne Kangaroos, 206cm ruck-man Braydon Preuss will wear number 11 as he looks to further develop his AFL career with the GIANTS.

15 (AFLW) – Brid Stack

After three years of trying to lure her to the GIANTS, the 11-time All-Ireland winner will wear the orange and charcoal in 2021. The key defender brings wealth of experience and a long-history of high-level success. Whilst still in quarantine, the Gaelic Football cross-coder, has been given jumper number 15.

18 (AFLW) – Tarni Evans

The first of two new number 18 jumpers in 2021, young Tarni Evans - who joined the club via pick nine in the NAB AFLW draft - will wear number 18 for the GIANTS’ AFLW side. The 180cm wing joins the GIANTS from the Queanbeyan Tigers.

18 (AFL) – Conor Stone

Conor Stone, who was taken at pick 15 in the 2020 NAB AFL draft, will take over one of the most well-known GIANTS guernseys in number 18. Stone is a powerful and versatile player whom the club think will develop into a player who can fill many roles.

23 (AFL) – Jesse Hogan

With a new club, comes a new number. Following his trade from Fremantle to the GIANTS, the former number 11 for the Dockers will take over Heath Shaw’s number 23 playing guernsey.

25 (AFLW) – Erin Todd

Swapping the basketball singlet for the Aussie Rules guernsey, Erin Todd will wear the number 25 for the GIANTS in 2021. The 34-year-old mum of two joins the GIANTS for the upcoming season as a replacement for Irish star Yvonne Bonner. 

29 (AFL) – Cameron Fleeton

Destined to become a GIANT, Cameron Fleeton from the Geelong West GIANTS will take the number 29 jumper in 2021. The young medium/tall defender defends with desperation and is able to get a fist in when out of position. 

33 (AFLW) – Emily Pease

One of two young players joining the GIANTS’ AFLW side from Canberra, the Belconnen Magpie will wear number 33 for the GIANTS in the upcoming season. 

35 (AFL) – Will Shaw

Rookie draftee Will Shaw joins the GIANTS from the Deniliquin Rams. The 180cm half-back will be known as GIANT number 35 in season 2021. 

37 (AFLW) – Libby Graham

Libby Graham, who was a train-on partner in 2020, has earned herself a contract and a player number for 2021. The rebounding defender from the Manly Warringah Wolves will wear number 37 next season.
