The GIANTS will welcome their next batch of future stars tonight when the NAB AFLW Draft is held.

The GIANTS have three selections tonight with pick nine the first opportunity for the club to welcome a new player. The club also has selections 29 and 42.

The majority of the GIANTS’ star players have found their way to the elite via the draft with names such as Alyce Parker, Nicola Barr and Rebecca Beeson having their names called at the the event in years gone by.

There’s no doubt that coach Alan McConnell and his staff would have been watching the movements of all the top end talent across the country in recent months.

As opposed to the open nature of the AFL Draft, the AFLW draft prospects have to nominate a state they wish to play which makes it somewhat easier to work out who’s heading where.

With 25 players from the 2020 season already re-committing to the GIANTS, it’ll be a quieter draft night than some previously which has seen an influx of fresh faces.

Some of the best up and coming talent had their chance to impress last week with Southern Power’s Kiara Beesley and Queanbeyan’s Tarni Evan both shining at the NAB AFLW Draft Combine.

The 2020 NAB AFL Draft will be held online for the first time and will be live on womens.afl and the AFLW Official App from 7pm AEDT on Tuesday, October 6
