UWS GIANTS players travelled to Wagga Wagga today ahead of their NEAFL Round 17 clash against Ainslie on Saturday.

The GIANTS took the time to visit a number of schools across the region, along with GIANTS Mascot, G-Man who visited children at the Wagga Hospital.

GIANTS players Sam Schulz and Taylor Adams visited South Wagga Primary School and Wagga Wagga Primary School and spent time answering the students questions, signed autographs and joined in on the schools AFL Auskick programs.

Schulz, who hails from Culcairn, was the local favourite and was mobbed by the children throughout.

“It was great to see so many GIANTS supporters amongst the students,” said Schulz.

“It’s great to see so many of the kids here today supporting the GIANTS, and they all seemed to have a great time. Hopefully plenty of them get out to the game tomorrow and cheer us on.”

Both Schulz and Adams found themselves involved in a mass game of AFL, with Schulz impressed in the talent that the local children showed.

“The game got a bit willing there, but certainly there are some future GIANTS amongst them,” said Schulz.

The UWS GIANTS take on Ainslie on Saturday 21 July from 12pm at McPherson Oval, Wagga Wagga.

The GIANTS have given an opportunity to a number of Slater & Gordon GIANTS Academy players to step up to the NEAFL level and the game will feature a number of local products including Sam Clyne (Wentworth), Nick Pleming (Coolamon), Jake Barrett (Temora), Sam Elwin (Temora), Zach Williams (Narrandera), Max King (Wagga), Lonnie Hampton (Albury), Isaac Damme (M.C.U.E), Tom Keogh (M.C.U.E), Michael Gibbons (Lavington) and Joseph Redfern (Wagga).
