The Greater Western Sydney GIANTS held the first ever official AFL Grand Final Luncheon in Sydney on Tuesday.
More than 800 guests attended the historic event at Doltone House in Pyrmont Point.
A host of AFL greats shared some their finest AFL Grand Final memories including; Kevin Sheedy, Michael Long, Barry Breen, Tom Harley, Mark Williams and Graeme Allan.
Angry Anderson took the crowd back to his 1991 Grand Final performance with a reprise of 'Bound for Glory'.
GWS GIANTS CEO Dale Holmes said that he was thrilled with the response from the event and that the club is looking forward to creating a new tradition in Sydney for the AFL calendar.
“This is another historical moment for the GIANTS and for the AFL in Sydney. We wanted to create an event for footy fans in Sydney to feel apart of the excitement of Grand Final week.
“It’s another example of the AFL’s commitment to supporters up here.
“We were really excited by the response we have received. The event sold out in just a few weeks and we are really encouraged by the level of corporate support the Club has received, not only for events like these, but in the founding years of this club.
"The feedback we recieved from the day has been fantastic. From what we've heard the new SKODA Stadium show reel was the highlight of the day for a lot of people. It gave our partners an indication of what our new stadium will be like next year.
"Angry Anderson was of course very entertaining. It was great to see a real sense of community there yesterday with 800 people in the room, all involved in and excited about building our club in Western Sydney."
