GIANTS reigning best and fairest winner Zarlie Goldsworthy will return for her first game of the season on Saturday afternoon, in round eight of the 2026 NAB AFLW Season.
Goldsworthy missed the first half of the season with a fracture to her lower leg, sustained during a pre-season practice match.
One of the best young players in the entire competition, Goldsworthy adds firepower as either a forward or midfielder, historically splitting her time between the positions.
Her much-anticipated return comes in a crucial week for the GIANTS, who are looking to secure their second win for the season against the Bombers, who are yet to register a victory in 2026.
Grace Martin also returns to the side, after missing last week’s match with the Magpies due to concussion.
Martin enjoyed her best performance of the year against the Tigers prior to her concussion - including kicking her first AFLW career goal - and will be looking to recapture that form this Saturday.
Goldsworthy and Martin enter the side for Poppy Boltz (injured) and Georgia Clark (omitted).
Versatile utility Jess Doyle will bring up her 50th AFLW game this weekend, with the GIANTS also hosting a special Y2K-themed game day for Saturday’s clash.
The round eight meeting with the Bombers will get under way at 1:05pm on Saturday at Henson Park.
