Players from the GIANTS' AFL, AFL Women's and Netball teams have spread the Christmas cheer to children and their families at Ronald McDonald House Westmead.

While Christmas can be a time of joy for many, there are those who have to spent time away from home and with sick kids in hospital, Ronald McDonald House provides a place for parents and families to stay.

Led by Ronald McDonald House ambassador Adam Tomlinson, AFL stars Toby Greene and Jonny Patton, the AFLW's Emma Swanson, Tanya Hetherington and Taylah Davies, and GIANTS Netball's Jamie-Lee Price, Sam Poolman and Kristiana Manu'a gave children presents and cooked dinner for their families as part of the annual event.

All of the presents gifted to the children from Ronald McDonald House Westmead were purchased using funds raised from donations by the GIANTS' players and staff.

"It's fantastic to see the smiles on the faces of the kids and make their Christmas that little bit better," Tomlinson said.

"They love getting their presents but it's talking to them and playing with them that really brightens their day.

"Being able to cook for their families and to allow their parents to have a night off is great.

"While we might be sore and tired from pre-season training, visits like these always puts things into perspective."

Ronald McDonald House Westmead provides a home away from home for the families of seriously ill children who are being treated at The Children's Hospital at Westmead.

The GIANTS are proud to have Ronald McDonald House as one of the club’s community partners.
