Zac Williams and Callan Ward will put their hands up to take on the Kangaroos at GIANTS Stadium on Sunday after impressive performances during the intra-club on Saturday.

Head of Medical Cullan Ball confirmed the pair are available for selection in this week’s Rehab Report, presented by Westfund.

“They both did really well during the intra-club game on Saturday,” he said.

“They got through with flying colours so both guys are available to play this weekend."

Defender Adam Kennedy is listed as a test after a hamstring injury suffered during the round one clash against Geelong.

After a couple of hamstring injuries over the past 12-18 months, the club has been cautious with his recovery across the shutdown period.

Also a test for this weekend’s matches is draftee Tom Hutchesson, who suffered a slight hamstring injury after returning to training.

“Adam obviously hurt his hamstring in round one so we’ve been taking it nice and steady with him and he’s building back really nicely and back into training,” Ball said.

"He’s a test for this weekend and ‘Hutch' has just got a low-grade hamstring injury and he’s a test for this weekend too.”

Popular ruckman Matt Flynn is on track to return to the football field in the next month after his ACL reconstruction just over 12 months ago.

Flynn is in full training and will build up his workloads over the coming weeks.

“’Flynny’ is going really well, he’s ticked off everything he needs to do and now he just needs a block of training,” Ball said.

"He’ll train for the next four weeks unrestricted with the team and then he’ll be available for selection at that point.”

Reigning Kevin Sheedy Medallist Tim Taranto is also on track with his recovery from a shoulder reconstruction in early March.

“The break’s been good for him really,” Ball said.

“He’s about 14 weeks post-surgery now and coming along really well. We’d expect him to play some time in the next four-ish weeks, depending on how he progresses.

“He’s back into training, non-contact, and working through the contact work that he needs to do to come back and play and he’s progressing really well.”

Irishman Callum Brown is also in the rehab group as he builds up his training loads after he returned home across the shutdown.

After completing a two-week quarantine at a Melbourne hotel, Brown returned to the club on Monday.

“He’s been a bit limited with what he’s been able to do when he’s been back home in Ireland and then obviously he’s just spent two weeks in isolation in Melbourne with a bike, and that’s about all he’s had access to,” Ball said.

“We’ll take it easy with him over the next three or so weeks and gradually ramp it up to a position where he’s able to push for selection.”
