Alyce Parker has become the first GIANT to receive a perfect 10 in the AFL Coaches Association AFL Women’s Champion Player of the Year Award. 

The 19-year-old played an outstanding game in front of her home crowd at Robertson Oval, Wagga Wagga, racking up 24 disposals and laying four tackles in the GIANTS’ 45-point win over Richmond.

Parker received 10 votes from the coaches and was also named on the interchange in womens.afl’s Team of the Week.

The Holbrook product has 25 coaches votes for the season and is one of only eight players to have been named in the womens.afl Team of the Week at least three times this season.

Parker’s housemate Cora Staunton was named in the forward line of the Team of the Week and received six coaches’ votes for her performance in the GIANTS’ win.

Staunton kicked a club-record four goals in a scintillating display that saw her also take an equal game-high six marks and lay four tackles. 

Elle Bennetts’ move to the backline has continued to reap dividends, with the 30-year-old named in the backline of the Team of the Week and receiving five coaches’ votes.

The former rookie took four marks and collected 13 disposals as she patrolled the GIANTS’ half-back line, winning a number of important intercept possessions.

Jess Dal Pos and Britt Tully both received two coaches’ votes, with Dal Pos outstanding alongside Bennetts off half-back.

Dal Pos had 13 touches, while Tully was influential in the GIANTS’ midfield with 18 disposals and five tackles.

Nicola Barr, who finished the game on the bench after injuring her hamstring in the final quarter, also received one vote from the coaches after an impressive game on the wing. 

The inaugural number-one draft pick collected nine disposals and took four marks as her run and carry helped drive the GIANTS forward. 

Meanwhile, Rebecca Privitelli’s two goals in the win over Richmond takes her season total to six, equal with Carlton superstar Talya Harris. Privitelli now sits equal fifth in the leading goalkicker race, with Fremantle’s Sabreena Duffy leading the way with nine goals.
