Location

The MCG is located on Brunton Avenue, Richmond, and is surrounded by Yarra Park. It is a short walk from Federation Square and Melbourne’s CBD.

Open Training

Sydney
Ahead of their maiden Grand Final, the GIANTS will hold an open training session at the WestConnex Centre on Tuesday, September 24.

The GIANTS player will be on the training track from 11:00am to 11:45am as they prepare  to take on Richmond in the 2019 Toyota AFL Grand Final on Saturday, September 28.

Entry is free, however on-site parking is not available and street parking is limited. There is ample parking and public transport options in Sydney Olympic Park. 

Melbourne
The GIANTS will hold and open training session at the MCG on Friday, September 27.

This will be the last chance for GIANTS members and fans to see the players be put through their paces before they face Richmond in the 2019 Toyota AFL Grand Final on Saturday, September 28.

Starting at 9:30am, the light training session will take place before the 2019 Toyota AFL Grand Final Parade.

All GIANTS members and fans are welcome to attend with entry available through gate one from 9:15am. Entry is free. 

Pre-Match Functions

GIANTS members and fans, you won’t want to miss our Pre-Match Functions ahead of the 2019 Toyota AFL Grand Final.

With a large number of GIANTS members and fans expected to descend upon Melbourne on Grand Final Day, the GIANTS will host two official Pre-Match Functions.

Grand Final Live Site

GIANTS members and fans if you can’t make the trip to Melbourne for Saturday’s 2019 Toyota AFL Grand Final, come to our Live Site.

Join other GIANTS faithful at Cathy Freeman Park (just a kick away from GIANTS Stadium) in Sydney Olympic Park to watch the game on the big screen on Saturday, September 28. 

Bring a picnic rug and some chairs, get your orange on and be in full voice from 12:00pm.

By Plane

By Car
The MCG is an eight-and-a-half-hour drive from GIANTS Stadium.

By Train
You can catch a train from Sydney’s Central Station to Melbourne’s Southern Cross Station with the journey to take around 11 hours. Bookings are essential – click here or call NSW TrainLink on 13 22 32.

Public Transport

Once in Melbourne there are a number of public transport options to get you to the MCG. To plan your trip on game day click here.

The nearest train stations Jolimont Station and Richmond Station, while trams stop along Punt Road, Brunton Avenue and Wellington Parade.

Grand Final Parade
The Toyota AFL Grand Final Parade, proudly presented by the City of Melbourne, provides a chance for supporters of all ages to see the players taking part in the 2019 Toyota AFL Grand Final.

Marching bands and roving entertainers will join the cavalcade parading the Grand Final teams from the Old Treasury Building to the Toyota AFL Grand Final Live Site at Yarra Park at the MCG on Friday the 27th September from 12pm.

Don’t miss the AFL Footy Festival at Yarra Park from Wednesday, September 25 to Saturday September 28.

There are heaps of fantastic giveaways and activities for the entire family.

Grand Final Pre-Match Entertainment
Legendary singer-songwriter Paul Kelly heads up an All-Australian star-studded line-up for the Grand Final pre-match entertainment.

Dean Lewis and Tones & I will also perform their latest hits, while John Williamson AM will perform Waltzing Matilda and football favourite Mike Brady will perform Up There Cazaly.

ARIA-winning artist Conrad Sewell will perform the nation anthem.

Free Premiership Party

Fans not attending the Toyota AFL Grand Final can gain entry to the free Premiership Party to enjoy Dean Lewis’ set and the presentation of the 2019 AFL Premiers from 6:45pm on Saturday September 28, via the lawn opposite Gate 2.

Team

The GIANTS team will be named on gwsgiants.com.au and the Official GIANTS App at 6:20pm on Thursday evening. The final team will be confirmed 90 minutes before the bounce.
