Original GIANT Tom Scully has pledged his long-term future to the GIANTS by signing a four-year contract extension.

Already signed until the end of 2017, Scully’s new deal will see the wingman remain in Western Sydney until at least the end of 2021.

With 115 AFL games behind him, the 25-year old is enjoying his best season yet in 2016, averaging almost 24 possessions and kicking 15 goals through the first 12 rounds.

Scully said he had no hesitation putting pen to paper to extend his future with the GIANTS.

“As someone who has been here from the beginning it was an easy decision to make and I’m excited about what lies ahead for the club both on and off the field,” said Scully.

“I love this club and I love Sydney. I love playing football with my team mates and I love coming to work every day.

“If this playing group sticks together we know we can have some success but it’s going to take collective buy-in from the group which I believe we have here.”

GIANTS General Manager Football Wayne Campbell said Scully’s long-term extension was a reflection of his strong desire to remain with the AFL’s youngest club beyond his first contract.

“The club invested in Tom when he first signed with the GIANTS and now he’s investing heavily in the club by signing this long-term extension,” Campbell said.

“He’s been here through some challenging times but he has never wavered from setting the highest of standards with his preparation, training and work rate. We’re delighted to see him enjoying his best season yet in 2016.

“Tom’s extension follows the recent re-signing of Callan Ward, Shane Mumford and Lachie Whitfield, which points to our commitment to securing this playing group for the foreseeable future.”
