Sydney local Kiera Yerbury rounds out the four fresh faces to debut for the GIANTS in their round one clash against the Eagles on Sunday.

Taken at number three in the national draft of 2025, Yerbury’s immense speed and endurance have earned her selection for Sunday’s match, which will mark her first appearance at AFLW level.

Starting her football journey as a junior with St Ives JAFC, Yerbury helped lead the North Shore Bombers to an AFL Sydney Premiership in 2025, while also starring for the Swans Academy from whom she was drafted last year.

Yerbury bought a blitzing intensity to her first pre-season as an AFLW athlete, taking out the GIANT mile and setting the pace on the track for the newcomers.

Deployable as both an outside and inside mid, Yerbury has spent time on the wing building into round one but originally caught the eye of GIANTS recruitment as an inside midfielder at under-18 level.

The Sydneysider rounds out a list of four players who will run out for the first time as GIANTS, after Tilly Lucas-Rodd, Poppy Boltz and fellow draftee Yasmeen Janschek were earlier announced to make their debuts.

Midfield and stoppage coach Shane Mumford, who has been working closely with the young gun across the pre-season was ecstatic for Yerbury upon selection.

“Kiera has put in significant effort in getting herself ready to play at the top level and I can’t wait to see her rewarded for this on Sunday,” Mumford said.

“Getting to play on ENGIE Stadium for the first match of her career is a show of how excited we are to have her in the program and how much we know she can achieve as a GIANT.

“I look forward to seeing both Kiera and Yasmeen run out on Sunday and watch them take it to the Eagles.”
