Resilient defender Daisy Walker has extended her time at the GIANTS until at least the end of the 2027 NAB AFLW Season.

The 23-year-old, originally from Mentone in Victoria, has played 41 games at AFLW level, including 10 with the GIANTS, having debuted in round three of the 2025 season.

Walker joined the GIANTS from the Blues in 2023 but was forced to miss her first year in orange and charcoal after sustaining a devastating ACL injury late in the pre-season.

A year’s long rehabilitation saw her make her debut for the club against the Crows last year, and she retained her position in Cam Bernasconi’s side across the entire season.

With a strong footy IQ, speed in rebounding and great tackling pressure, Walker has been a seamless addition to the GIANTS’ fast moving play style across her 10 games for the side.

Executive General Manager of AFLW, Alison Zell, congratulated Walker.

“After a difficult start to her time at the club, Daisy has shown incredible resilience and has been an asset for us in each game she’s pulled on the uniform,” Zell said.

“Her attitude, both on and off field, have made her a significant contributor to both our backline, and the GIANTS as a whole, and she’s grown into an influential leader at our club.

“It’s great to have Daisy commit to the club for another season and into what we are continuing to build in our AFLW program.”
