GIANTS veteran Alicia Eva has been ruled out for at least a month after straining her hamstring while lunging for a tackle, in the first quarter of the round three loss to the Crows.

Eva, in her tenth AFLW season, was sent for scans on Sunday which confirmed a low-grade strain to her right hamstring.

The small forward was the only injury out of the match, with the GIANTS hoping to regain some of its midfield talent for round four.

Irish recruit Grace Kos is a test to play this week after a minor MCL injury interrupted her training and made her unavailable to take on the Crows.

She will return to full training through the week and will be available for selection should she complete requirements.

Aliesha Newman will also be a test to play after a minor hamstring injury kept her from selection in round three.

Meanwhile, Viv Saad made a successful return to football through AFLW scrimmage last week in her first game of football in almost a year.

The GIANTS travel to the Gold Coast to take on the Suns on Saturday at 1:05pm in round four, the final week of Indigenous Round.

The GIANTS will name their team to face the Suns at gwsgiants.com.au, at 6:20pm on Thursday.
