Skipper Toby Greene headlines five inclusions to the GIANTS’ extended squad for Sunday’s crucial clash with the Suns at ENGIE Stadium.
Greene will look to prove his fitness in Friday’s main training session as he looks to overcome a persistent corked glute which forced him to miss last week’s win over the Lions.
The star forward is joined in the extended squad by Jake Stringer, Ryan Angwin, Jacob Wehr, and James Leake.
Stringer is also pushing hard for a return alongside Greene on Sunday after being sidelined since the GIANTS’round nine win over the Cats with a hamstring strain.
Versatile trio Angwin, Wehr, and Leake will also be vying for selection in the final team of 23 as they look to replenish the club’s backline which will be without star Sam Taylor (broken toe) for the next 4-6 weeks.
Also exiting from last week’s side alongside Taylor is star forward Brent Daniels who will miss through an adductor tendon injury suffered against the Lions.
Looking to carry over their brilliant performance against Brisbane last week, the GIANTS will welcome the sixth-placed Suns to ENGIE Stadium for an exciting clash on Sunday afternoon.
The GIANTS will name their final side of 23 on Friday at 5pm.
The GIANTS and the Suns will battle from 1:10pm on Sunday at ENGIE Stadium.
