Vice-captain Josh Kelly could be in line to return for this weekend’s match against the Tigers at ENGIE Stadium.
Kelly last played in the round seven loss to the Bulldogs and has missed the last four matches due to hip irritation.
The star midfielder will need to complete another week of full training, including Thursday’s main training, to be available for Saturday afternoon’s clash.
Toby McMullin and Logan Smith will also be a test for this week, with Smith looking to play his first club game since being drafted by the club last November.
Jake Stringer is continuing to progress in his rehab following a moderate hamstring strain suffered in round nine against the Cats.
The explosive forward will increase his speed training and gradually return to team training this week.
Brent Daniels is tracking on a similar timeline to Stringer and will continue to increase his training load this week as he aims for a return against the Lions.
Finn Callaghan will continue his conditioning-based training as the determined midfielder tackles his recovery from a shoulder dislocation.
Stephen Coniglio will visit a specialist again this week as he continues to progress in his return to play.
Meanwhile, promising draftee Ollie Hannaford will be sent for a scan on his ankle following an injury suffered in the second quarter of the club’s VFL game in Albury on the weekend.
The GIANTS will host the Tigers at ENGIE Stadium this Saturday in a VFL/AFL double-header, with the VFL getting underway at 12:30pm and the AFL at 4:15pm
