Debutant Darcy Jones is the only change for the GIANTS’ ANZAC night clash with the Brisbane Lions in Canberra.
Taken with pick 21 in the 2022 Draft, Jones will take on last year’s grand finalists following a run of impressive VFL form after overcoming a wretched run with injuries in his first 12 months at the club.
Hailing from Western Australia, the dynamic small forward - who is recognised on-field by his orange and charcoal helmet - will make his long-awaited debut on Thursday after missing almost his entire debut season with a torn ACL suffered in April last year.
Small forward Brent Daniels has been cleared to take his place in the side following a minor knee complaint in last week’s clash against Carlton.
Captain Toby Greene is out of the match after failing to have his one-match suspension for rough conduct overturned. Vice-captain Josh Kelly will be captain in his absence.
Thursday night’s match is officially sold out with all attendees required to hold a valid match day ticket or membership. There will be no ticket sales or redemptions available at the gate.
The GIANTS and Lions will do battle on Thursday night at Manuka Oval at 7:30pm, with the match to be shown live in NSW and the ACT on the Seven Network, with the pre-game live from 7pm on 7mate and the match to be shown live on Channel 7 from 7:30pm. The game will also be live on Fox Footy and Kayo nationally.
