MILESTONE
Lachie Whitfield is set to play his 200th AFL game against Adelaide on Saturday, becoming just the second player drafted to the club to reach the milestone. The 28-year-old was selected by the GIANTS with pick one in the 2012 NAB AFL Draft. Making his AFL debut in round one 2013, Whitfield was nominated for the NAB AFL Rising Star award in his first season. A move to an unfamiliar backline position in 2018 saw Whitfield elevate his standing in the game, becoming one of the most dangerous half-backs in the competition, earning his first All Australian honours and taking home the Kevin Sheedy Medal as club champion. He became the first GIANT to be a two-time club champion when he was named the joint Kevin Sheedy Medallist, alongside Nick Haynes in 2020.

Capital Brewing Co has partnered with the GIANTS to launch the third year of their Trees for Tomorrow initiative in partnership with Jindabyne-based environmental charity Keep it Cool.
The 'Kick A Goal, Plant A Tree' program has Capital Brewing Co working hand in hand with the GIANTS, committing to plant a native Australian tree for every goal kicked by the GIANTS’ AFL and AFLW teams throughout the 2023 season.
