GIANTS Chairman Tony Shepherd welcomed Ms Toohey to the GIANTS Board.

“After an exhaustive process led by our Nominations Committee, I’m delighted to announce the appointment of Kathryn Toohey AM, CSC as the Club’s ACT-based Director.

“As a recently retired two-star General, Kathryn is a great Australian with an incredibly decorated career centred on leadership and overseeing a number of the nation's largest and most critical military and public projects. She has a strong focus on governance and integrity.

"Kathryn was born in Queanbeyan and raised in Canberra and has spent much of her career in the nation’s capital. As such, she has built extensive relationships across the ACT’s private and public sectors, and with community sporting associations.

“As a former high-level netballer, Kathryn has an understanding of elite sports and was recently appointed a Director of ACT Basketball. We welcome Kathryn and her family to the GIANTS and look forward to her further bolstering our governance capabilities.”
