Last Time They Met: The two sides met in February this year, in round eight of season six. Played at Manuka Oval, with a chance of finals on the line, the GIANTS were defeated in the final quarter going down by 18-points. Always within reach, trailing by just 13-points at the final break, fatigue got the better of the GIANTS following three games in eight days. Nicola Barr (17 disposals) and Alicia Eva (17 disposals, six clearances) were among the GIANTS’ best, with Cora Staunton kicking two goals from limited opportunity down forward.

Broadcast: The match will be broadcast live from 12:00pm on 7Mate in NSW and ACT, as well as Foxtel, Kayo and the Official AFLW App.

What it Means for the GIANTS: Saturday’s game will be a great test of character for the GIANTS, to see how they respond from last weekend’s sub-standard performance against the Adelaide Crows. Currently sitting 1-4 and in 16th position on the ladder, the GIANTS will look to use the next five games to show and improve their brand of footy, starting this weekend.

Where’s the Opposition At: After a one-point win and successive draws in the last month, the Blues last week suffered their first defeat since round 1. What had been consistent scoring efforts, the Blues last week dropped off from their four goals a game average to record 1.2 (8). The Blues’ star forward, Dary Vescio, will be a test for this weekend following a finger injury.

Player Watch: Tarni Evans – just 14 games into a promising career, the 20-year-old has been one of the GIANTS’ most consistent players this season. She stood tall for her side last week in challenging circumstances, producing a career-high 22 disposals.

In the Mix: Given last week’s results, it is likely that the GIANTS will make some changes heading into round six. Forward Georgia Garnett will be a test this week, after missing last round with a hamstring injury. Depth in squad is a struggle for the GIANTS at the moment given their injury list, with just four players available to make changes.
