The GIANTS will be boosted by the availability of several key players ahead of Sydney Derby XXIV at the SCG on Saturday.

Co-captain Josh Kelly, star wingman Lachie Whitfield, key forward Jesse Hogan and important midfielder Harry Perryman are all expected to be available for the Derby clash.

Kelly missed last week’s loss to Carlton under the concussion protocols and while he still needs to get through training on Thursday, he’s on track to be available for the match.

Hogan was managed for round 19 after playing 14 games so far in season 2022. It’s the first time since 2018 the big man has played more than 12 games in a season.

Whitfield is set to return from a hip flexor injury that has caused him to miss the past two matches, while Perryman is also due to return from the four broken ribs he suffered in round 13.

Ruck Matt Flynn will miss a week with an ankle injury he’s been managing across the season while youngsters Conor Stone and Finn Callaghan are closing in on returns to the field.

Bobby Hill has returned to light training at the club after spending two weeks at home in Perth following surgery for testicular cancer.

Connor Idun (foot) and Ryan Angwin (leg) have been ruled out for the remainder of the season, alongside Jack Buckley and Brent Daniels.

Buckley has experienced some knee soreness that has slowed his progress from an ACL injury suffered last season while Brent Daniels will see further specialists across the coming weeks to help treat his persistent hamstring injuries.

The GIANTS take on the Swans at the SCG on Saturday.
