Haneen Zreika will remain a GIANT until at least the end of the 2023 season after signing a two-year contract extension.

The Western Sydney product, who has played forward, back and in the midfield, has played 30 games for the club since joining as a rookie listed player in 2018.

Originally from a Rugby League background, Zreika has been a pioneer of the game since she debuted in 2019 and became the first Muslim woman to play AFLW.

GIANTS Head of Women’s Football, Briana Harvey, said that Zreika’s versatility makes her an important re-signing for the GIANTS.

“Haneen’s shown over the course of her career at the GIANTS that she can play pretty much anywhere, which is a great asset to have,” she said.

“She's a popular member of our group and we’re delighted that she’ll continue in the orange and charcoal long-term."

Zreika joins young stars Emily Pease, Ally Dallaway and Jess Doyle in signing two-year deals heading into season seven of the NAB AFLW competition.

Season seven of the NAB AFLW competition begins in August, with pre-season commencing next week.
