Milestones

Three GIANTS players could reach milestones in Sunday’s match against the Tigers.

Callan Ward is set to play his 250th AFL game on Sunday. After joining the club as an uncontracted player from the Western Bulldogs, Ward became one of the inaugural co-captains of the GIANTS in 2012. The 31-year-old won the inaugural Kevin Sheedy Medal as the GIANTS’ club champion in 2012 and was named the most courageous player in the competition by his fellow players in 2018.

24-year-old Tim Taranto is set to play his 100th AFL game on Sunday. After joining the GIANTS with pick two in the 2016 NAB AFL Draft, Taranto make his debut in round one, 2017, and won the Kevin Sheedy Medal in 2019 in just his third season.

Former Demon and Docker Jesse Hogan could also potentially play his 100th AFL game. The 27-year-old has kicked 190 goals in 99 games, including 20 goals in nine games for the GIANTS last year. He missed round one after an interrupted pre-season but could be in line to return in round two.
