Debuting in 2019, Haneen Zreika is a pioneer of the women’s game after becoming the first Muslim woman to play in the AFLW. Hailing from Western Sydney, Zreika joined the club as a rookie-listed player in 2018 and has since gone from strength to strength to cement herself as a regular member of the GIANTS’ line-up. Originally from a rugby league background, the zippy forward is one of the GIANTS’ most reliable players, taking out two of the club’s last three Coaches Awards for her ability to play a variety of roles with unmatched tenacity. The 160cm pocket rocket previously played rugby league in the NSW Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership competition. In 2023 Zreika finished sixth in the GIANTS’ club champion award after finishing seventh in the competition for tackles, averaging a huge 8.8 per game, to go along with 13 disposals per match.
