Forward Daniel Lloyd has recovered from a quad injury and is available for selection for the GIANTS’ clash with Essendon at GIANTS Stadium on Saturday.

Lloyd has completed his rehabilitation following the serious injury picked up ahead of round one.

GIANTS Head of Medical Cullan Ball said:

“It’s great to see Lloydy back after a strong rehabilitation.”

Brent Daniels will miss at least the next month after sustaining a hamstring injury during Saturday’s win over the Crows.

“Brent unfortunately has a grade two hamstring strain,” Ball said.

“It’s the same injury he had during the pre-season which means we’ll be cautious with his recovery.

“We’ll be in a better position in a few weeks to put a timeline on his return but we know he’ll miss at least the next month.”

Veteran Sam Reid also re-injured his hamstring during the game but played out the match up forward, kicking two goals.

He missed round six with the same injury and will be sidelined for two weeks this time.

“Sam’s had a frustrating run with injury but this one is still on the minor end,” Ball said.

“We expect him to miss the next fortnight.”

Matt Buntine also suffered a concussion in the same game and will undergo the usual 12-day concussion protocols.

“We’ll assess Matt as he goes but he’s feeling good which is great,” Ball said.

“He'll obviously be unavailable this week and then we’ll see how his testing goes next week.”

The GIANTS take on the Bombers at GIANTS Stadium on Saturday at 1:45pm while the VFL side has a bye this week.
