In 2012, the GWS GIANTS will be the 18th team to enter the AFL. In 2011 we are offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and reliable person to volunteer for the timekeeping job at GIANTS home games. This role will give you an opportunity to work within the GIANTS inner sanctum.

Knowledge and Skill

We seek an individual who:

• Has a detailed knowledge of the game rules and regulations
• Is able to work within an team and as an individual
• Has reactive judgment to the umpires signals e.g. time on and time off
• Has the ability to cope under pressure

Responsibilities

• The timekeeper should advise the field umpire ASAP that his /she is in attendance at the ground.
• The timekeeper will ensure that the following equipment is available for use: 
        
-Timekeeper Card.
-Goal scorecard.
-Stop watch or time clock.
-Suitable siren.

• Record the commencement and finish of each quarter.
• Record Goals and behinds scored during each quarter.
•    Record the number and club of any player sent from the field.
• The time the player left the field and the time the player returned to the field.
• At the completion of the game, the timekeeper will confer with field umpire regarding players and the reasons they were sent off.
• Hand paperwork to field umpire /ground manager at the completion of game.
