Greater Western Sydney GIANTS midfielder Stephen Coniglio says his side’s inside mids need to spread well on a very long Patersons Stadium when they take on Fremantle.
“I think that the one key, especially for our inside mids is to spread on this ground. Freo obviously have a lot of good midfielders who spread well,” said Coniglio.
“It’s definitely my favourite ground, Patersons. It’s long and the wings are skinny.
“Growing up in Perth, it’s all based around a running game, which is why it’s my favourite ground.”
Coniglio, who will miss Sunday’s game with injury, told GIANTS TV he is disappointed to miss out on playing on his return to his home city.
“It’s very disappointing not to be playing against Fremantle, especially playing on the home turf, it would have been a little bit more special,” said Coniglio.
“I’m very glad and happy to be able to come over and see the family, who I haven’t seen for a few weeks. It’s been good to catch up with family and friends.”
The GIANTS take on Fremantle at Patersons Stadium at 2.40pm on Sunday.
