COLLINGWOOD coach Nathan Buckley isn't looking at Saturday's clash with Greater Western Sydney as an opportunity for his out-of-form talls to play their way back into form.

Instead, he's considering the match from the Giants' point of view and how they'll look to tackle their fourth outing at Skoda Stadium against a powerful opponent.

"We've got great respect for GWS and any other side that we play," Buckley said.

"We need to be playing our best footy and that's all we'll be focusing on this week.

"There are a lot of young players in the GWS side, we know that Sheeds has managed the list, rested a lot of players last week.

"We know that most of the experienced players are going to be up and about, and around the backbone are going to be some very talented young players."

Using the game to boost percentage - something the Pies desperately need, given they trail equal-third Hawthorn by 40.75 per cent - is not something Buckley would be drawn on.

Despite the Giants losing their past five games by an average of 109 points, Buckley won't underestimate their potential.

"Even in the last month, they've been competitive and been around sides in the first half of games, so that's what we'll look at," he said.

"We anticipate they'll play with some real energy and enthusiasm, and we need to match that and play our footy."
